BISHKEK -- Feruza Jamashaeva has been officially named chairwoman of Kyrgyzstan's Supreme Court.
Other judges of the court finally elected Jamasheva on September 18.
Up to now, she had been the acting top judge at the court since September 2010.
The judges also elected three deputy chairpersons of the Supreme Court.
Judge Kanatbek Turganbekov was selected as deputy chairman overseeing administrative violations and two other women – Gulbara Kalieva and Baktygul Amanalieva – were named deputy chairpersons.
Kalieva will oversee civil affairs and Amanalieva is in charge of administrative and economic affairs.
Parliament approved their candidacies last week.
There are 25 judges on Kyrgyzstan's Supreme Court.
