A military court in Russia on June 19 sentenced four Ukrainian citizens to lengthy prison terms, including a life sentence for one, in the case of the 2016 death of Arseny Pavlov (also known as "Motorola"), a top commander of Russian-backed separatists in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk. Oleksandr Pohorelov was sentenced to life, while Artem Yena received 17 years in prison, Vasyl Churylov got 13 years, and Oleksandr Tymoshenko was sentenced to 12 years. The four were also found guilty of the attempted murder of the Donetsk region's separatist leader, Aleksandr Zakharchenko, in 2017. Zakharchenko was killed in a separate attack in 2018.
