At least 16 Russian citizens died in the attack on October 7 in southern Israel by Hamas -- designated a terrorist organization by the U.S. and EU -- the Russian Embassy in Israel said on October 14. Eight Russian citizens are listed as missing, and at least one Russian was taken hostage by Hamas and is being held in the Gaza Strip, according to the embassy.
