German Officials Search UBS Branches Linked To Russian Oligarch Usmanov

German officials have searched branches of the Swiss bank UBS in Frankfurt and Munich as part of an investigation into Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov, who is suspected of money laundering and other crimes. A spokesman for the Frankfurt prosecutor’s office said on November 8 that the searches were at banks with accounts connected to Usmanov. UBS confirmed that its two branches were the subject of the searches and said it was cooperating with authorities.
