Run-off mayoral elections were held in 25 of Kosovo's 38 municipalities on December 1, where no candidate received the required 50 percent of votes to be declared the winner.

One of the run-off elections was held in the majority-Serbian town of North Mitrovice, where violent incidents during the original November 3 election involving masked men destroying voting materials invalidated the vote and caused it to be repeated on November 17.

There were no reports of violence there, or at any of Kosovo's other polling stations, December 1.

Voter turnout was reported to be more than 40 percent.
