A clash broke out between demonstrators and the police in Podgorica on December 12 following the adoption of an amended law giving power to the parliament's majority to take over the competencies of the president. The peaceful protest, which was organized by opposition movement Ima nas (We Are Numerous), escalated after the parliament adopted the law. Despite the call of organizers to disperse, a group of demonstrators threw objects and torches at the police, who responded with tear gas and pepper spray. There were no reports of injuries.
