The Prosecutor-General’s Office of Bosnia-Herzegovina has announced that it has closed its investigation into whether a centuries-old Orthodox icon gifted to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in 2020 was, in fact, a protected cultural treasure stolen from Ukraine. It said that Ukraine’s Prosecutor-General’s Office had confirmed there was no evidence the piece of art was from Ukraine, nor part of that country’s cultural heritage.
