BAKU -- Another conscript in the Azerbaijani Army has died.
Defense Ministry officials said that a sailor at a naval base in Baku was shot dead by another conscript.
The March 24 incident took place two weeks after police in Baku violently dispersed the latest protest against frequent noncombat deaths of conscripts in the army.
Azerbaijani activists launched a campaign to raise awareness about the deaths of conscripts in the army in January.
The initiative was prompted by the death of a soldier, whose official autopsy report said he died of a heart attack.
It was later revealed that he was beaten to death.
Several army conscripts have died since then.
