Armenia Says 'No Agreement' On Ministerial Meeting With Azerbaijan In U.S.

Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ani Badalyan has told RFE/RL that "no agreement" had been reached for a meeting between the top diplomats of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ceyhun Bayramov, have both left for the United States to attend an event on the sidelines of a NATO summit scheduled for July 9-11. The neighbors have been negotiating a peace treaty since Azerbaijan retook control of the Nagorno-Karabakh region in September 2023, following a lightning offensive.
