U.S. troops on patrol in Jalalabad (file photo) (epa) June 20, 2006 -- The Afghan government has reportedly sent a statement to the country's media organizations warning them against glorifying terrorism.

The document urges media not to interview terrorist commanders or publish "exciting announcements" by terrorist groups.

The government denies that the recommendation restricts the media or violates freedom of speech.
